Laptops and phones have dropped the big rectangular USB port, yet almost every memory stick, keyboard, mouse and card reader in the house still has one. This adapter bridges the two. It turns a USB-C socket into a full size USB-A port and it is small enough to live on a keyring or in a laptop sleeve.
The J8 is the metal one. A TPE and aluminium alloy body copes with being pushed in and pulled out every day, which is where cheap plastic adapters usually give up first. It measures 37.4 x 15.9 x 8.7mm and weighs 6g, so it adds nothing noticeable to a bag.
It handles charging as well as data. With a USB-A to USB-C cable it passes up to 27W, with a USB-A to Lightning cable up to 12W, and with USB-A to Micro-USB up to 18W, so an old cable can still charge a newer phone. Certified to CE, RoHS, FCC and EAC.
