Not every socket in the house is USB-C yet. Car dashboards, older mains plugs, hotel bedside lamps and desktop computers are still full of the rectangular USB-A port, and this cable is the plain answer to that, a straightforward lead that turns any of them into a charger for a modern phone.

It runs at 3A, which is enough for steady phone and tablet charging, and it handles data as well as power for moving files onto a computer. At 1.2m it is long enough to use the phone while it charges without trailing across the room.

Both the outer sheath and the joints are TPE, which keeps the cable soft and easy to coil while resisting the tug of being yanked out by the lead.
