BUSINESS TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 11 May 2021
Company: iTech Prestige Limited T/A iTechU

Welcome to iTechU. By booking, authorising repairs, purchasing products, or using our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.


1. General

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services and transactions provided by iTech Prestige Limited T/A iTechU, located at:

Warrington
WA4 1AZ
England, UK


We may update these Terms periodically. Updated Terms take effect once published on our website or provided at point of service.

All services are carried out in accordance with UK law.

Nothing within these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation.


2. Services Provided

iTechU provides repair, refurbishment, resale, diagnostics, and maintenance services for electronic devices including but not limited to:


  • Smartphones
     
  • Tablets and iPads
     
  • Laptops and PCs
     
  • Game consoles
     
  • Other consumer electronics
     

Services may include:


  • Board-level micro-soldering
     
  • Glass-only refurbishment
     
  • Component-level diagnostics
     
  • Hardware replacement and upgrades
     

Customers may choose between OEM or high-quality refurbished parts where available and agreed.


3. Device Repairs

3.1 Assessment and Quotes

All quotations are estimates based on visible or reported faults during initial inspection.

Additional faults discovered during repair may require revised pricing. Customers will be contacted for approval before further work proceeds.


3.2 Repair Times

Repair times vary depending on:


  • parts availability
     
  • supplier delays
     
  • diagnostic complexity
     
  • unforeseen technical issues
     

Estimated completion times are not guaranteed.


3.3 Access and Testing

Full device testing requires passcodes or account access.

If access is not provided:


  • Full testing cannot be completed.
     
  • Warranty applies only to functions tested and verified.
     
  • Any later testing or diagnosis may be chargeable.
     

Authorising repair without providing access confirms acceptance of limited testing.


3.4 Repair Risk Acknowledgement (Elite Protection Clause)

Electronic repairs involve inherent risk. Pre-existing or hidden faults may become apparent during or after repair, particularly on devices with prior damage, liquid exposure, or previous repairs.

By authorising repair, the customer acknowledges and accepts this risk.


3.5 Water Resistance

Any repair involving opening a device may affect manufacturer water or dust resistance.

iTechU cannot guarantee water resistance after repair.


3.6 Warranty

Warranty begins when the device is collected or returned.


  • Phones and Tablets: 12 months
     
  • Laptops, PCs, Consoles and Other Electronics: 6 months
     

Warranty covers:


  • workmanship
     
  • parts supplied and installed by iTechU
     

Warranty does NOT cover:


  • physical or liquid damage
     
  • software issues or data loss
     
  • battery ageing or normal wear
     
  • accidental damage
     
  • third-party or unauthorised repair attempts
     

3.7 Warranty Verification

Warranty seals and verification labels may be fitted internally or externally.

If seals are removed, damaged, or tampered with, warranty is immediately void.

All warranty claims require inspection.

4. Parts

Customers may choose between OEM and refurbished parts where offered.


Performance or longevity differences based on part choice are accepted by the customer at time of repair.


Parts warranty matches repair warranty duration and covers manufacturing or installation faults only.


5. Data and Privacy

5.1 Data Backup

Customers are responsible for backing up all data before repair.


iTechU accepts no liability for data loss or corruption.


Some repairs may require firmware updates or software restoration which may erase data.


5.2 Data Protection

All data handling complies with:


  • UK GDPR
     
  • Data Protection Act 2018
     

Any data accessed is used only for service completion.


5.3 Data Removal on Disposal

Uncollected or abandoned devices will be securely wiped before resale or disposal using industry-standard secure methods.


Once erased, data cannot be recovered and iTechU holds no liability.


6. Payments

6.1 Payment Terms

Full payment is required upon completion unless agreed otherwise in writing.


Devices are released only after cleared payment.


Accepted methods:


  • Cash
     
  • Card
     
  • Bank transfer
     

6.2 Storage Fees

Devices left beyond 30 days may incur reasonable storage fees.


6.3 Abandoned Devices

Devices unpaid or uncollected after 90 days are considered abandoned.


iTechU will attempt contact via phone, email, or text.


After 90 days:


  • ownership is forfeited
     
  • devices may be recycled, sold, or disposed of to recover costs
     

All data will be securely erased beforehand.


7. Liability

Certain repairs (including liquid damage and micro-soldering) carry higher technical risk.


iTechU is not responsible for hidden or pre-existing faults unless caused by proven negligence.


To the fullest extent permitted by law:


  • iTechU is not liable for indirect or consequential loss
     
  • including downtime, lost income, or data loss
     

Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.


8. Business and Corporate Services

Additional agreements may apply for business clients including:


  • bulk refurbishments
     
  • data destruction
     
  • recycling services
     
  • SLAs
     

Secure Data Erasure

Three-pass overwrite processes are used where required, compliant with:



  • NHS DSPT
     
  • HMG IS5 Enhanced
     
  • UK GDPR
     

Certificates of Secure Data Destruction available on request.


Chain of Custody

All business devices are logged and tracked. Records retained for 12 months.


Environmental Compliance

All disposals follow UK WEEE Regulations and licensed recycling practices.


Confidentiality


iTechU maintains strict confidentiality and will sign NDAs when required.


9. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:


  • provide accurate fault information
     
  • ensure lawful ownership
     
  • provide access credentials where possible
     
  • collect devices promptly
     

Failure to comply may result in refusal of service or reporting to authorities where appropriate.


10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
