Welcome to iTechU. By using our services, purchasing products, or visiting our premises, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services and transactions provided by iTech Prestige Limited T/A iTechU, located at 270 Knutsford Road, Warrington, WA4 1AZ, England, UK.
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes take effect once posted on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
All transactions are performed in accordance with UK consumer and business law.
iTechU offers repair, resale, and maintenance services for a variety of electronic devices including (but not limited to) smartphones, tablets, iPads, iPhones, laptops, PCs, and game consoles.
We specialise in board‑level micro‑soldering, glass‑only refurbishment, and component‑level diagnostics. Customers may choose between original manufacturer (OEM) or high‑quality refurbished parts, as agreed before service.
Where devices are sold, refurbished, or exchanged, accompanying warranty terms apply as described below.
Assessment and Quotes:
All repair quotes are estimates based on visible faults during initial inspection. If additional issues are discovered during repair, iTechU will contact you before proceeding or applying supplementary charges.
Repair Time:
Repair times may vary depending on part availability and fault complexity. Delays caused by suppliers, couriers, or unforeseen issues are outside iTechU’s control.
Passcodes and Access Restrictions:
In order to test a device fully before and after repair, iTechU requires access to the device via passcode, pattern lock, or account login (where applicable).
If a customer declines to provide access, iTechU may still proceed with the repair at the customer’s request; however:
Authorising repair without providing access credentials constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Warranty:
All repairs include a limited parts and labour warranty, starting when the device is collected or returned.
This covers workmanship and the specific parts replaced or repaired. It does not cover:
Warranty Seals and Codes:
Warranty seals and/or internal verification stickers are applied inside and/or outside devices.
If any seal or code is removed, tampered with, or damaged, the warranty becomes void immediately.
Warranty claims require inspection to confirm relation to the original service.
Original and Refurbished Options:
We supply both OEM and high‑quality refurbished components. The customer’s choice is confirmed before repair. iTechU accepts no liability for differences in performance or longevity resulting from that choice.
Parts Warranty:
Replacement parts are covered for the same duration as the repair warranty:
Covers installation or manufacturing faults only and excludes accidental or third‑party damage.
Data Backup:
Customers should always back up their data before handing in a device. iTechU accepts no responsibility for any loss or corruption of data, files, or software during diagnostics, testing, or repair.
Data Confidentiality:
We process all information in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Data accessed during repair is used solely for service completion and not shared or stored beyond what is required.
Data Removal on Disposal:
If a device is abandoned, uncollected, or unpaid beyond the timeframe below, iTechU will securely erase all data before resale or disposal.
Data is erased using industry‑standard secure methods, such as a full firmware restore (e.g., iTunes or 3uTools for Apple devices) or certified overwriting software.
By using our services, you consent to permanent deletion of data during secure disposal. iTechU is not liable for data once erased.
Payment Terms: Full payment is required upon completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. Devices are released only after payment has cleared.
Payment Methods: Cash, debit/credit cards, and bank transfer are accepted.
Non‑Payment and Abandoned Devices:
Devices not collected or paid for within 90 days of completion are deemed abandoned.
iTechU will make reasonable contact attempts (call, email, text).
After 90 days, iTechU may dispose of, recycle, or resell the device to recover costs for diagnostics, labour, and parts.
Ownership is considered forfeited, and iTechU bears no responsibility thereafter.
Before disposal, all data is wiped securely in accordance with Section 5.
Repairs such as liquid‑damage recovery, logic‑board repairs, or micro‑soldering carry inherent risks. While all care is taken, iTechU is not responsible for pre‑existing or hidden issues that worsen unless caused by proven negligence.
To the extent permitted by law, iTechU is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including data loss, performance issues, downtime, or lost income.
Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service or item.
For business, educational, and corporate clients, additional or separate contracts may apply, including:
iTechU performs certified three‑pass overwriting for all PC and laptop hard drives (SSD and HDD) designated for data destruction, compliant with:
This procedure ensures permanent, unrecoverable erasure.
Upon request, iTechU issues a Certificate of Secure Data Destruction, confirming:
All business equipment is logged upon receipt to maintain traceability from collection to destruction or return. Records are held for twelve months for audit compliance.
All disposals follow UK WEEE Regulations and the Environment Agency’s best‑practice guidelines. Reusable units are refurbished; irreparable items are recycled via licensed facilities.
iTechU upholds strict confidentiality and, where necessary, will sign a Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before handling sensitive or proprietary data.
Customers must:
Failure to comply may result in service refusal, voided warranty, or reporting to law enforcement if suspected of handling stolen property.
These Terms and any disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of their courts.
